Karachi witnessed a vibrant celebration of the Hindu festival of Holi, organized by the Sindh Minority Affairs Department. The event, held to promote religious harmony, featured a colorful ceremony, an Iftar dinner, and a conference on interfaith unity. Senior officials, including Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Minority Affairs Dr. Lal Chand Ikrani, attended the festivities.
Dr. Lal Chand Ikrani highlighted the Sindh government’s efforts to support minority communities. He mentioned initiatives like financial aid, healthcare assistance, scholarships for students, and the development of places of worship and community centers. “Sindh has always been a land of peace, where people of all faiths respect each other’s religious traditions,” he said.
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the values of love, brotherhood, and tolerance, extending warm wishes to the Hindu community on Holi. “The Pakistan Peoples Party stands with the Hindu community in celebrating this joyous festival,” he added. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah echoed these sentiments, praising the event as a symbol of unity and mutual respect.
