About the Role
As a Career Development Advisor, you will report to the Head of Career Services and play a pivotal role in shaping the career trajectories of our students. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Career Guidance: Engage with undergraduate students to help them explore career options, make informed decisions, and plan for their future—whether it’s securing employment, pursuing graduate studies, or launching their ventures.
- Skill-Building Programs: Design and deliver career skill-building workshops and programs in collaboration with faculty and industry experts to prepare students for a seamless transition from university to their professional lives.
- Resource Development: Create and curate career resources, tools, and materials to enhance students’ knowledge about various industries, career processes, and skill development.
- Student Support: Provide one-on-one career counseling, resume reviews, and interview preparation to help students build confidence and competence in their job search.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement career development strategies tailored to student needs.
- Organize career fairs, networking events, and industry talks to connect students with potential employers and mentors.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry professionals to align career programs with market trends and academic curricula.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of career services and programs, making data-driven improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
- A master’s degree in Career Counseling, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in career counseling, student advising, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of career development theories, job market trends, and graduate school admissions processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and industry professionals.
- Proficiency in using career assessment tools and online career platforms.
