Karachi – In a significant move to facilitate passport issuance and renewal, two new passport offices are being set up within NADRA Mega Centers in Karachi. These centers, located at Five Star Chorangi and Chorangi (Site), will provide much-needed convenience to citizens, reducing the rush at the Central Passport Office.

This decision was finalized during the visit of Director General (DG) Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, to Karachi. The initiative aims to bring passport services closer to residents and eliminate the long queues that have often been challenging at the central office.

Expanding Passport Services Nationwide

The move is part of a broader strategy to introduce passport facilities at NADRA Mega Centers across Pakistan, making the process more efficient for all. Karachi’s new centers are just the beginning of this initiative, which will soon benefit citizens nationwide.

Achievements in Passport Printing

Last week, DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi announced that the department had successfully cleared the passport backlog across the country. He shared impressive statistics, revealing that since July 1, a record 33,76,510 passports had been printed. This included:

  • 7,76,451 passports in the normal category,
  • 18,96,403 passports completed under other standard procedures,
  • 7,03,656 applications were processed under the fast-track category.

The DG emphasized that citizens no longer need to wait for confirmation messages or emails to collect their passports. All pending passport deliveries have been completed at Regional Passport Offices, ensuring that applicants receive their documents on time.

A Step Towards Greater Convenience

The establishment of passport offices at NADRA Mega Centers highlights the government’s commitment to improving public service delivery. Citizens in Karachi and beyond can now look forward to a smoother and faster passport-obtaining process.

This development will greatly benefit the city’s residents, making passport-related tasks more accessible and hassle-free.
