Linda Yaccarino new Twitter CEO
Linda Yaccarino, who most recently served as the head of advertising for NBC Universal, will succeed Elon Musk as CEO of Twitter, the company’s current leader announced on Friday via a tweet.
Before NBC made the announcement of her leaving on Friday morning, Yaccarino had already been in discussions for the position. She is credited with modernising the advertising business of Comcast Corporation’s entertainment and media division.
A long-time advertising industry executive and current CEO of AJL Advisory, Lou Paskalis, predicted that Twitter’s “trajectory will immediately take a 180-degree turn” under her direction. AJL Advisory is a marketing consulting firm.
Musk fired hundreds of employees, hastened the introduction of a subscription platform that allowed scammers to imitate large businesses, and suspended users with whom he disagreed. All of these actions were carried out by the company he founded, Tesla.
“I believe that (Yaccarino) has accomplished everything there is to accomplish at NBCU and has done it to an exceptional level. And there is no more difficult task than bringing order back to Twitter,” he remarked.
On Friday, the share price of Tesla fell by 1.3% as analysts stated that Musk would be able to focus more on the electric vehicle sector if another CEO were hired. Shares of Comcast barely moved from the previous close.
