Karachi: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi celebrated a landmark achievement with its Convocation 2024, held at the Main Campus. The grand ceremony witnessed 1,353 graduates receiving their degrees across various disciplines, marking the largest graduating class in IBA’s illustrious history.
The event conferred degrees to 990 students from six undergraduate programs, 362 graduates from 11 postgraduate programs, and one PhD scholar. The Chief Minister of Sindh and Patron IBA, Syed Murad Ali Shah, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Sultana Siddiqui, President of Hum Network and Founder of Moomal Productions, attended as the Guest of Honor.
A Legacy of Excellence
Speaking at the ceremony, Syed Murad Ali Shah praised IBA Karachi for its dedication to academic and societal excellence. “IBA has built a legacy of leadership, excellence, and transformation,” he stated, emphasizing the institution’s highly qualified faculty, 67% of whom hold PhDs from leading global universities.
He highlighted the importance of this convocation as a precursor to IBA’s 70th Anniversary celebrations next year. “This ceremony represents not only the accomplishments of today’s graduates but also a continuation of IBA’s journey of creating impactful leaders,” Mr. Shah remarked.
Celebrating Unprecedented Growth
Executive Director IBA Karachi, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, expressed his pride in the institution’s progress and the graduates’ success. “Today, we celebrate the largest graduating class in IBA’s history,” he said, acknowledging the dedication and perseverance of the graduates.
Looking ahead, Dr. Zaidi added, “This day also marks the beginning of a remarkable year as we prepare to celebrate IBA’s 70th Anniversary—a milestone that showcases our enduring commitment to excellence and transformation.”
Words of Encouragement
Ms. Sultana Siddiqui inspired the audience with her address, recognizing IBA’s impact on society and the exceptional achievements of its graduates. She urged the graduates to dream big and remain true to their values. “Integrity and honesty are the foundations of true success, which goes beyond personal accomplishments,” she emphasized.
Honoring Outstanding Achievements
The convocation also celebrated outstanding student achievements. Top-performing graduates from various programs were awarded medals, shields, and merit certificates. A standout moment was the presentation of the ‘Excellence in Sports’ Award to rowing champion Syeda Manahil Hussain, applauding her dedication to both academics and athletics.
