Karachi: The first session of an exciting Filmmaking and TV Production training series was held at the Sir Adamjee Institute of Management Sciences (SAIMS). Rehan Hyder, a renowned entrepreneur, journalist, media trainer, and digital media expert, conducted the session. This series aims to equip students with the essential skills needed for success in the media industry.

Rehan Hyder began the session by covering the basics of photography, video recording, and the use of cameras, lights, and lenses. He delved deep into the art of storytelling, scriptwriting, screenplay development, and the psychology behind effective storytelling. Hyder emphasized the importance of storytelling for everyone, regardless of their profession—be it a student, housewife, doctor, engineer, or teacher. According to Hyder, mastering the art of storytelling is crucial for excelling in any field.

During the session, Hyder discussed various camera shots, their significance, necessity, and the psychological aspects of using them in movies. He provided detailed explanations on how to capture the audience’s attention and effectively convey a story through visuals.

Students were actively engaged in hands-on practice. They were given the task of shooting scenes with six different camera shots, allowing them to apply what they had learned. Mehmood Haider, another expert present at the event, also spoke and involved students in practical assignments, enhancing their learning experience.

Rehan Hyder highlighted that creating a film or TV program is just the beginning. He stressed the importance of marketing the final product and selling it in the market to earn revenue. He explained that understanding the audience and effectively marketing the content is key to success in the media industry.

In addition, Rehan Hyder provided detailed discussions on career options and tips for making money. He gave useful advice on building profiles, seeking jobs abroad, and working in Gulf countries such as Oman, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar. He emphasized the importance of making money, whether in Pakistan or abroad, and adopting the mindset and habits of successful people to achieve professional excellence.

The next session of this training series is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 10th, at SAIMS, where students will work on creating a short film. This practical approach ensures that participants gain real-world experience and develop the skills needed for a successful career in filmmaking and TV production.
