Team Pakistan is gearing up to make a significant impact at the prestigious Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024, scheduled to take place in Brunei from December 4. The announcement was made by Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), who revealed that Pakistan will showcase over 20 groundbreaking projects at the event. This marks the largest-ever delegation from Pakistan in APICTA’s history, reflecting the country’s growing prominence in the global IT industry.
“This year’s participation highlights Pakistan’s expanding footprint and commercial success in the IT sector,” said Sajjad Syed.
A Global Platform for Innovation
The APICTA Awards is a renowned international platform that recognizes technological innovation and excellence across the Asia-Pacific region. This year, 16 member economies, including Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam, will participate. Pakistan’s contingent includes IT companies, startups, and academic institutions, presenting innovative projects across diverse categories.
Sajjad Syed emphasized the importance of such platforms for the country’s tech ecosystem. “The APICTA Awards serve as a global stage for our innovators to showcase their brilliance and creativity. Pakistan’s consistent achievements here underscore the immense potential of our IT sector. We are proud to lead this delegation and confident that our participants will once again bring honor to the country.”

Pakistan has built a solid reputation at APICTA, winning multiple awards over the years. According to Muhammad Umair Nizam, Senior Vice Chairman of P@SHA, this success has positioned Pakistan as a key player in the region’s digital transformation. “Our track record speaks volumes about the talent and innovation that Pakistan has to offer,” he noted.
Representation at the Jury Level
Highlighting Pakistan’s growing influence, four Pakistani experts have been selected as jury members for APICTA 2024. Muhammad Zohaib Khan, immediate-past Chairman of P@SHA, and Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan are serving as judges and members of the Executive Committee. Badar Khushnood and Dr. Usman Akram, both prominent figures in Pakistan’s IT industry, are also part of the esteemed jury panel.
Nadeem Malik, Secretary General of P@SHA, celebrated this achievement, saying, “Having our leaders represent Pakistan at the jury level is a testament to the credibility and talent of our IT sector on an international stage.”
