Google is set to roll out soon as a part of Workspace updates for Gmail.
- Having trouble writing concise, interesting emails? Google provides the solution for you.
The advent of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution has ushered in a period of fast change that is being witnessed all across the world. AI is reshaping everything from corporations to sectors, including how we live, work, and interact with one another.
The introduction of ChatGPT in November of the previous year propelled generative AI to the forefront of attention, and since then, major technology companies have been hard at work producing solutions to keep up with the ever-evolving technological landscape.
Google employs AI not only to enhance the user experience but also to make its products more effective and to develop new technological capabilities. Google provided a comprehensive breakdown of its plans to implement artificial intelligence (AI) across all of its offerings at its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, which had just wrapped up.

Using a stronger generative model, Google introduced the ‘Help me write’ functionality in Gmail at the event. If you use this function, you may quickly and easily create a whole email template in a matter of seconds. The functionality makes advantage of Google’s cutting-edge machine-learning algorithms to produce superior outcomes.
Support for “Help Me Write” is coming to both Gmail and Google Docs. Users will find this function useful for drafting emails and writing portions with minimal intervention. As part of our Workspace enhancements, the corporation also mentioned that this would be implemented.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai showed how the functionality works by seeking a refund from an airline and having a message automatically generated based on previous interactions with the contact.

The “Refine” button under the “Help Me Write” function will allow users to change the wording of their messages. Formalise, elaborate, shorten, and the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button are all examples of what you can do using the refine function.
How to use Google Help Me Write
From Google’s keynote at I/O 2023, we can see how Help Me Write works, and it’s really straightforward. Using Docs as an illustration, once this function is accessible, you would do the following.
- Launch a brand-new file.
To get started writing, select the Help Me Write option at the top of the page. - Plan out your intended writing with a prompt.
- Just go to Create.
- To make a new choice after it has been made, select the Recreate button. Modify to alter the current content’s tone.
- When you’re ready to incorporate the material, select Insert.
According to Google, customers have had access to Help Me Write since March, so the product is well on its way to a larger public release.
However, we have not yet determined a universal rollout date for the feature. Instead, Google promised it would be out in the second half of 2023 during I/O.
