Khairpur, Sindh: In a tragic and shocking incident, a young woman has been accused of involvement in the deaths of 13 members of her family in Pir Jo Goth Tehsil, Khairpur district. The family, all from the same household, fell victim to poisoning last month, sending shockwaves through the local community.

At a press conference, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) revealed that the accused daughter, who had been in a relationship with her cousin Amir Bakhsh Brohi, allegedly plotted to poison her family when they opposed the marriage. The victims include her parents, siblings, and a cousin. According to the DSP, the accused and Amir had conspired to eliminate the family to pursue their relationship without resistance.

Authorities had initially been alerted to the deaths when 13 family members, including children, died after consuming poisoned milk. The mysterious nature of the deaths led to an inquiry, and postmortem reports confirmed the presence of toxic substances in the victims’ bodies.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Samiullah Soomro stated that forensic samples from the stomach, nasal passages, and organs of the deceased were examined, confirming the cause of death as poisoning. The SSP emphasized that the case is highly sensitive, as the murder of 13 family members, including innocent children, has left the entire village in shock.

“This is a deeply distressing and complex case,” Dr. Soomro said. “We are working to uncover the full motivations behind this tragic event, and we will ensure that the law takes its course.”

The victims included Gul Baigg Brohi, his wife, five sons, three daughters, and other close relatives. Local hospital sources confirmed that all the deceased suffered severe poisoning, leading to the deaths of the entire family.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the crime and any additional involvement.
