The President of FPCCI, Atif Ikram Sheikh, congratulated Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig on his election to the National Assembly of Pakistan (NA-241). He expressed confidence in Baig’s ability to lead the business, industry, and trade community in Pakistan by promoting supportive, business-friendly policies from the esteemed platform of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

In addition, Atif Ikram Sheikh stated that Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig is a highly esteemed former Senior Vice President of the FPCCI and a seasoned and successful leader in governance, having previously advised Pakistan’s Prime Minister on textile matters. In addition, he has spent many decades involved in political, social, humanitarian, and economic circles.

Atif Ikram Sheikh suggested that the next administration make use of his connections and experience in export markets and diplomatic circles. He holds the position of Honorary Consul General of Yemen in Pakistan, which is a testament to his diplomatic qualifications. He has also been granted the distinguished civic awards of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Pakistani government.

It is encouraging to have a true representation of commerce and industry in the legislative, policymaking, and diplomatic circles, according to Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, SVP of FPCCI. He is an insider’s understanding of the issues facing the business community and will be a powerful and influential voice in the Pakistani National Assembly.

At this pivotal point in Pakistan’s economic history, Saquib Fayyaz Magoon emphasized that the election of Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig will make it easier for commerce and industry to be represented in the government. He continued, “He is an excellent choice because of his exceptional credentials as an industrialist and exporter himself. We needed a strong voice in the system from within the industry.”
