KARACHI: The Sindh government, echoing Bilawal’s vision, has reaffirmed its dedication to providing investment, trade, and business facilities to the private sector. Spokesman Sindh Government Syeda Tehseen Abidi emphasized that the business community plays a pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic development. He highlighted that PPP and the Sindh government are keen on promoting public-private partnerships to drive economic growth, create employment opportunities, and ensure a favorable environment for investment and business reforms.

During a meeting with the members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Syed Tehsin Abidi stressed the government’s efforts to facilitate businesses in Sindh. The session, attended by FPCCI Senior Vice President Saqib Fayyaz Mags, Vice President Aman Paracha, and prominent industrialists Khalid Tawab, Mian Zahid Hussain, and Shabbir Mansha Wadigar, focused on strengthening government-private sector collaboration.

It’s important to remember that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reiterated his commitment to resolving the concerns of the business community, emphasizing that traders and industrialists should communicate directly with him rather than seeking alternative channels. This assurance was given during his meeting with business leaders a few weeks back, where he promised to address their issues and foster a pro-business environment in Karachi and Sindh.

FPCCI leaders acknowledged Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s engagement with the business community as a positive step. Senior Vice President FPCCI Saqib Fayyaz Mags termed the meeting with Bilawal as a “ray of hope,” expressing confidence in the PPP leadership’s pro-business stance. Vice President Aman Paracha emphasized the need for stronger coordination between the FPCCI and the Sindh government to ensure smooth policy implementation and effective resolution of business challenges.

One of the key demands of the FPCCI was the formation of a high-level working committee to enhance coordination between the Federation House and the Sindh government. The business community urged Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah to visit the Federation House and engage directly with traders and industrialists. This, they believe, will encourage business confidence and pave the way for economic stability.

Highlighting the Sindh government’s focus areas, Syeda Tehseen Abidi reiterated that investments in transport, energy, and industrial zones are crucial. The Sindh government aims to involve the private sector in infrastructure development while prioritizing economic opportunities for youth and women.

With a promise to create a business-friendly environment, the Sindh government, under PPP leadership, is taking significant steps to bridge the gap between policymakers and the business sector. The renewed focus on investment facilitation, direct engagement with business leaders, and strengthening partnerships underscores PPP’s long-term vision for economic prosperity in Sindh.
